Hi guys Does anyone know when they'll send us an email for the pre-selection? (I heard that the EU Commission for the March traineeship has already done it)

Candidates will be notified by e-mail of the results of the selection:
- in late July (for traineeships starting on 1 October)
- in late December (for traineeships starting on 1 March).

Last year many applicants got a phone call from different units at the EP around this time, though some are not called and still seem to get a place. Next week they will probably send emails to selected ones.

I first got calls from an unknown number that I didn't notice as I was working. Later I received the email with an invitation.

I read somewhere that some units prefer contacting their candidates, others don't. So we'll see...

Has anyone else heard anything?

I got an email last week from a head of unit that they had given my name as first choice to the traineeship office. They also stated that they hoped the procedure will close soon and I would receive a conformation. The email ended with see you (hopefully) in March.

The week before I received the email I had contact with the unit by sending them my cv and motivation.

Does anybody know how certain it is that I am going to be shortlisted by the traineeship office. From the email I got it looks pretty certain that I am selected for a traineeship however, it is no official conformation.

@vscherders did you lobby this specific DG or did you get the e-mail out of nowhere?

I'm still confused about whether we should be lobbying for this traineeship as well.
I am also getting a little bit anxious to hear back. Last year they had the results by now so I am hoping we will hear sometime this week!

The DGs should have already made a shortlist of their preferred trainees. Maybe we will receive some news next week

@macaviity, I indeed lobbied a specific department, however, I think it is too late to lobby now but you can always try..

Has anybody received their pre-selection notification?

Hi guys, please forgive me perhaps a stupid question but it's the first time I'm applying for traineeships and I'm a bit confused as to the starting date. This page (http://www.europarl.europa.eu/atyourservice/en/20150201PVL00047/Sta%C5%BEuot%C4%97s) says that the traineeship, for which application period is 15 September-15 November, starts in April. That was the one I was aiming for and I just got an email saying I've been shortlisted. However, here, on these forums, I can only see topics for EP traineeships starting in February and in October. Is it simply that the corresponding topics for April or July traineeships have not been created or am I missing something?

Also, can anyone tell me whether you need to send your supporting documentation in a physical letter to the address specified in the mail? I kind of got such an impression because there's no email specified where I could send them in electronic form.

I think most of us applied for the 5 months Schuman traineeship. At least I did...

Does anyone know when the Schuman traineeship offers will be sent?

Hey peeps! I still haven't received any communication but I'll wait "patiently". Now the problem is that I'm going away for christmas and in case they will contact me, ask for documents and certifications, I would like to know which ones are needed so I can have them on my computer and ready to be sent. According to the EP Traineeship FAQs:

"9. Do I need to send my supporting documents when applying? Will they need to be
translated / certified?

No. Only if you are selected or placed on a reserve list, will you be asked to send by email
simple scanned copies of your diploma, your identity card or passport, and proof of your
journalist education or experience (for journalism domains only), along with a copy of your
signed application. They can be in any official EU language."
