Last time I was pre-selected with worth application. For the second time I decided to make better application - prepared everything very seriously But...it looks that sometimes worth gives better results There is no chance to understand evaluation of our applications

As regards the bar qualification, I do not think it is necessary to be qualified at the Brussels bar for someone specializing in antitrust law, provided that you are qualified in another European jurisdiction.
As long as you're qualified to practice law in any EU jurisdiction or the US it's fine.

Those who didn`t receive an email until now have not been included in the Blue Book:
<<All candidates will receive an email informing them of the outcome of the preselection exercise around end of May.
Candidates pre-identified for inclusion in the Blue Book were sent an e-mail message inviting them to upload their supporting documents.
If you did not receive such a message, you were not among the pre-identified candidates.
Please do not write to receive individual feedback now. You are of course welcome to apply again for the March 2016 session.>>
Hey c_l,
I read your thread, and I am wondering does it mean that if one did not receive the email last Friday, the he/she is rejected already?
Thank you!

Thanks, swe1. But the way I understood the message from http://ec.europa.eu/stages/: If you did not receive such a message, you were not among the pre-identified candidates., plus the discussion in this thread, it seems like that all must have received an email last Fri. (Why did they use past tense otherwise? hihi...)
What do you think?

Yes I have seen the other posts.. I don't agree - I got an email validating my application on Monday (ie. After the pre-selected once recieved an email.)
The selected once will recieve offers starting Mid June.
I think they mean that after May if you have not recieve it you did NOT get selected.

Oksana, I think you have too much. This is supposed to be mostly for young people, recently graduated or with scarce expeience (even though they do not state it clearly). I think that is the reason why someone of your profile ha snot been selected

Can anyone tell me his real motivation for this traineeship? Can it lead to some potential job in any EU institution afterwards? I keep searching an information on this and found no 2 matching responses.
Thanks. Btw, a pre-identified Spanish here!

Pajarita, I do intend to apply as an official translator after finishing my studies, so the translation traineeship would be a plus I´m sure . I was also thinking about the "administrator generalist" or wahetever-it-is-called job... As someone said, the traineeship does not guarantee anything, but it is good to have some experience with the EU already! And supposedly, there are some job fairs etc. taking place during the traineeship, so that makes it easier. Personally however, I try to have as diverse a profile as possible now, so that I am able to choose the best in the end, whatever it is (EU or not ).

Hey! Thanks for the reply! What I actually meant was a job opportunity, maybe not as a permanent staff (I would like to avoid that process selection which does not even guarantee a placement) but as interim, specialist or something similar.

Hi there!
First of all, congratulations to all those of you who were pre-selected!
As for me, this is my first post in this forum and my first time applying for the translation traineeship as well. I am a 24-year-old Spanish boy, hold a bachelor's degree in Translation and Interpreting and speak fluently Spanish, English, French, Italian and German. I have also taken several language certificates, but have no relevant experience neither as a translator nor as an interpreter, as I just finished my studies.
I have received no response so far and, yet, have the feeling that I will not be pre-selected. However, far from being disappointed about it, this encourages me to keep on getting better
Now, @Pajarita, may I ask you what kind of traineeship did you apply for and when were you notified about the positive outcome of pre-selection?
Hope you all have a nice day!

I just don't get it.....this is the fifth time I apply for a traineeship. I hold a BSc, MSc, certificates, working experience and one foreign language. And never received that e-mail. What do you need to do/have for a traineeship ?

I get a feeling they must be shortlisting certain no. of national from each MS. If you happen to represent one of the countries such as Italy and Spain (where loads of folk apply) it must be harder.
I was pre-identified with a law undergrad, second law postgraduate degree on the way, declared experience at a UN agency in a developing country and then an intership with a development donor funding human rights projects and 4 languages declared in addition to my mother tongue. However, no top uni certificates nor substantial experience or e.g. specialization in EU affairs so I am just happy having been pre-identified doubt I will get any further, but who knows, we will see in May :-) Uploaded my supporting docs today, so in waiting game begins, applied for general traineeship ofc.
Anyone has an idea whether the area of interest played any role in pre-identification process?

Well yeah I come from Greece. But still I doesn't make sense. A friend of mine got shortlisted last year with the same qualification as mine and maybe a bit less. She had a BSc, an MSc and 3 months experience and two spoken languages and she got shortlisted just by applying once. I have much much more experience (almost 18 months) and 1 spoken language, BSc, Msc, a certificate and applied five times and still no preselection. I started wondering if the whole procedure is "clear" enough....

Sorry to hear that Jaspered. I am not sure whether the selected area of interest plays any role in it too.
Have you had your motivation letter read through by anyone? I find that helps often too.
Keep on trying, EP is open too for applications until mid-May :-)
Times are tough for so many young folk across Europe! Also here in the Northern end of the Union.
