Guys, i know an official group is going to be created for the October Traineeship, but i created this one for all of us who have been pre-identified, so that if anyone has a question concerning the documents that have to be uploaded or something like this, may ask it there:

I have the same question than c_l and masraci to all the people who received an answer: did you all apply for a translation internship? Thanks a lot for your answer!

May I ask you how your profile is? I jut want to understand why i always am rejected with a master's degree with distinctions, a post graduate master's in european law, several experience of study abroad (both academically and linguisytically) ...three languages and a job as a trainee lawyer.
I'm so frustrated.

Hi all!
Has anybody received a negative answer, or they just send to successful candidates so far? Does anybody who has experience from previous years knows if they send all the e-mails for successful candidates at once?

I sent mine on the day of the deadline. My profile is: currently doing a master's, excellent english, erasmus, three foreign languages (one at native level). Masraci, your odds vary according to the country. Are you Belgian/Italian? Your odds will be quite low if so

Hello guys!
I'm new here
I would like to ask the ones who received positive feedback where are they from. Just to figure out if there is any country criteria for the sending of application results.
PS: Peejay, why you say italians have just a few odds? Is it for the huge amount of application from Italy or something else?
Thank you!

I am an international candidate and I sent my application a few days before the deadline. Like the others, I have received the positive feedback on Friday afternoon.
I have a question to all of you who are quite confident that they will be selected in the end: How much value will this traineeship add to my CV? Is it worth working 5 months for this ridiculously low salary? Will my chances of entering the legal market in Brussels be significantly higher?
@masraci: Somewhere on the website you can find the criteria based on which your application is assessed. Judging from the information provided by you, possible reasons could be:
- University with a bad/average reputation
- Three languages is probably less than average (I remember having read that the average trainee speaks 4 languages)
- Your position as a trainee lawyer was in a no name law firm
- Motivation letter not convincing

Don't worry too much, EPSO works in mysterious ways. I hold two master's degrees (one from Oxford), speak all the Commission's working languages fluently and wasn't selected a few times either. The traineeship quotas can be a curse for all graduates coming from small but highly-educated Member States such as the Netherlands, Belgium, or Italy.

From my experience as a stagiaire in Brussels, past experience at the Commission is certainly no prerequisite but might be helpful to get your foot into the door if (and only if) you've worked at DG COMP or the legal service. Your education (i.e. your uni's reputation & your grades) and your ability to qualify as a (foreign) lawyer at the Brussels bar will nonetheless be significantly more important.

wow, so many interesting profiles/backgrounds . The requirements for translation traineeships are certainly different, but as for me, I´m Czech, currently doing a Master´s in Multilingual Commu. in Belgium, Bachelor´s in Translation, I speak English at C2 level, French and German C1-C2 (probably C2, but have certs for C1 only), Italian A2 , my mother tongue is Czech. Some relevant work experience and volunteering, many many language courses and training, also abroad. That´s all I can think of now . Still wondering what´s better though - translation or general... if I´m not in the final selection for this session, might try general next time, but dunno.

Ambra, yes the odds for Italians are 1/30 approx because of the volume of applications. For Brits it's 1/6.

Anyway it seems that all successful candidates were sent a mail last Friday. I think it's done, but let's hope till the end.
Congrats everybody!

Hello everyone!
I received an e-mail from TO on Friday. I am a little bit confused with uploading the documents to my ECAS account. This e-mail I got from them has not been registered in my account yet, so I don't know where to upload the documents. Has anyone else had a similar experience?
Thanks a lot!

2800 (according to http://ec.europa.eu/stages/how/steps_en.htm). That makes around a quarter of successful candidates, so still a long way to go, phew
