I'm sure you did well! maybe contact the same person next week to again show your interest?
What were the questions he asked you beside about why you applied to this unit?

It was in English only

More less just the motivation, I talked a lot about that, and bit about my educational background.
Also asked me if i think that my English is good enough to cope with all the research that I would have to be doing.

The rest of the call was him explaining what that unit is doing and what would be my tasks.

I have a call scheduled tomorrow with DG Trade, I will try to prepare for it. Hopefully it goes well.

I think most of them ask the similar questions.
The only think they could ask you more is some question related to the things that that unit is doing, like your opinion, your predictions or similar.
So do a little research about the unit, that's what I did.

Good luck to all of you who already had or will have interviews. Anyone of you also interested in ENER or JUST? Those are my first choices. Third is COMP but I assume that the competition will be strong ;-).

Thank you! Yes I will read through some articles tonight and try not to stress about it too much.

Diesdas: I think DG COMP really goes for the candidates who chose the DG as their first preference. This is what I understood when they called me on Monday.
Try to lobby your first choice since it has priority for the first two weeks!

Yes I'm interested in JUST, it was my first choice. Have you heard anything from any of the Units? Do you know if they are taking trainees this year or was there any significance to them not being listed in the contact list from the TO?

No... I got an email from Echo telling me that the selection is ongoing and that the offers are going to be sent in the beginning of February....

Actually now that I re-read his message, he said that they all still in the "pré-sélection" process... Maybe ECHO didn't get the memo that the blue book is now open. Question

Actually, they are not on the contact list... I gave preference to the other two in the beginning because of that

When you lobby you have to contact each head of unit, not the emails provided by the traineeship office. So go on each DG's page and look at the organization chart and spot and contact any units that interest you. That's how I gothat answer from one of the units at ECHO.

Yes, just search for organizational chart and you can find all the names there and sometimes even the e-mails

Wow this forum has started to bloom all of a sudden lol.
I got a call from DG MOVE yesterday (not on my list of preferences) saying they are really interested in me and that they will do as much as possible to reserve me. I am not very confident about this though since we all know that only when the offer from the TO arrives it becomes official.
However, no news from JUST, HOME or EACEA from here (my options).

I just had an informal call with a unit (third choice) and that person was super nice. He just asked me to confirm my interest after doing some research on certain reports I'd be working on. So I'm going to do that. But of course nothing's set in stone. I wish EEAS was more proactive. Sad

No I didn't...they contacted me directly because I have a Master in international transport and a couple of publications regarding that topic.

I just had a call with DG JUST E.2. They are shortlisting candidates now and they told me that they will conclude their lists within the next 7-10 days. Unfortunately, I had them only as Prio 2, although I do not really prefer one over the other. Prio 1 hasn't made any approaches yet. Let's see.

Does anyone knows how it works in case for example when Prio 3 is interested to take me, do they need to wait until Prio 1 and Prio 2 make a final decision about me?
Do they consult each others or what?
