When I’ve been interviewed the have called me straight up to my mobile, and they’ve also emailed me to my personal email (the one I put on my application to the EC).

Yeah we could! Because some HoU don’t do interviews! They just send the name of the candidate they like (out of the blue book) and then the TO sends you an offer! This is why some HoUs end up looking for a trainee last minute because if the person who received the official offer rejects it! Then they have to start the selection process all over again! (Like I’m september)

It's difficult to tell, I've read of trainees who've never been contacted and in the end they just received an offer, or others who went through a few interviews. Also, the interview does not necessarily guarantee the placement offer.
The whole process is a giant emotional rollercoaster, and the current situation only makes it more difficult. :/

Those who had interviews, how was it? were they clear with their proposals?

I just received this from EEAS. Only two places, and they already chose their candidates. I wonder if this is the case everywhere else. I was planning some more very late minute lobbying but not sure now:/

Ok so I assume one vacancy is at the Turkey unit, I wonder what's the second one.

From what nadinae wrote, there were 2 places dedicated for this session in general. At least that's what I assumed from "Due to the specific situation related to the COVID-19 pandemic, the EEAS offers only two trainees places. Services have now chosen their candidates". So the recruitment for those 2 places there is done.

Yes, that's my understanding as well, only two places for the Oct. session.

The second one was for the GLOBAL 1 unit! I told you guys a while ago

Some other units had more! Like DG ENER had 5

Why can’t all units we have lobbied to be this straightforward. We honestly never know when the selection process starts or ends!

This is a bit far fetched but we might get notified next week. I am just thinking that since next week they open the applications for the 2021 session, they might want to inform those who've been offered a place. I mean, if you are really determined to do this type of traineeship you will consider next year's application, and from my perspective, it only makes sense to know if you have been selected for the current year before starting with a whole new application.

I really like your optimism! There’s still time to submit the application until the 31 of August! Although I would recommend everyone to apply! Even if you have given interviews, even if the HoU who interviewed you has emailed you saying that you are the one being selected! Because anything can happen! What if, since you were promised you were receiving an offer, you don’t send The M21 Application, but at the end something happens and you don’t receive the official offer? This has happened to people from past sessions! For last session (because of COVID) there was people who even received the official offer but at the end was told that couldn’t travel to Belgium for the M20 session (all Italians who were living in Italy and almost 80% of non-EUs) and they didn’t apply for this O20 session so they are having to wait a whole year all together.

Lmao imagine the amount of people applying for March 21. Easy peasy 20 thousand applicants

Yeppp It can be between 20-24, but if you have already been selected on the blue book once, you have a high possibility to be preselected again

Hi guys! Have you heard any news from any DG's?
Friday, ECHO was still recruiting, and it also came to my understanding that some HoU haven't started the process of recruiting yet which means that there are still some chances.

Also, are you guys in the Oct. traineeship facebook group? I am asking this because someone came with the idea of sending a letter of advocacy for a more fair chance re the recruitment.

That's basically what DG JUST said to me last week. One unit replied saying their process is still ongoing and another said they hadn't reached out to candidates. Maybe still some hope!

But this morning I got an e-mail from ENV A1 saying "Unfortunately we cannot offer you the opportunity to join our team as we will have no positions available for Blue book trainees from next October."

I'm not on facebook but would love to hear more about the letter you all are planning as it progresses.

Really?! I had kind of lost hope! I knew ECHO was still recruiting, but I guess not the units I was interested in haha

From RTD: 0.1 doesn’t have vacancies, neither does H.2 and those were my only two replies haha

"I would like to thank you for your interest for a Blue Book traineeship in the Social Dialogue unit.
However, this unit does not have this kind of positions available for the October session "

I got the same from the same unit, and haven't heard anything from other units. EMPL was my second choice, but I don't think they take in any trainees for this session.

You guys the deadline to sign the letter is midnight today, so, if you agree what the letter says, I motivate you to sign it when you can

Please note that under no circumstance we will be able to reimburse the incurred costs of living and accommodation at the place of assignment.- do they mean they will give us monthly allowance or not?
