Call for results

Hello everyone!

I was shortlisted for the Traineeship on July 14 but was not notified until now.

My two preferred locations were Strasbourg and Madrid.

Has anyone received an offer for these places?

I got my offer just one week ago so there is still hope people!! Don't be so pessimistic, I think some offices are still selecting

Hey guys, just to be sure: do you know if my Bluebook candidacy would be automatically withdrawn if I applied for the next (March 2018) session? I will be pretty busy next week so I can't wait to revise and resubmit my previous app form. I am not sure either if we'll get a definitive response regarding this session before 31 August.

Btw @bilgeyis, I also believe that there really is an abnormal delay in all pre-announced dates this year. Hopefully it won't be like for the next sessions..

Edit: Just got a response from TO. They say the selection process still continues but also that meanwhile, we are welcome to apply for the next year. In case we're selected in following days, our app for next session will be automatically dropped.

@Presingularity, congrats on your offer! Did they say smth about visa procedures? ( like what type of visa is needed for non eu's)

@bilgeyis Thank you! I just read through the information packet, and it says that non-EU people need to apply for a D visa (multiple entry), and that it could take 3 months (!!). Fortunately I will be able to use my current visa, but I'm concerned about everyone else with so little time left....

@Presingularity, yeah interesting. Not that I got an offer, but now I am curious if I can use my european student residence permit ...( if I get to come)

@bilgeyis That's exactly what I'm doing. I have a student visa in Germany. I contacted them and confirmed that as long as it's 6 months or shorter, I can work in another EU country and use my visa.

Anyone still waiting for the final confirmation from the TO? I'm non-EU, got contacted by a unit about a month ago. Really would like to know when I can start applying for a visa.....

@juli.xiang hi, did you have unofficial offer from DG? I am also still waiting and also non-eu.. tired of waiting

@bilgeyis yes I had an unofficial offer and the DG sounded very positive that nothing would go wrong. But without the official one, I can't make any arrangements at all....when did they contact you? Mine was 3rd of August ...

@juli.xiang May I ask which DG contacted u? I have also been contactrd on august 3rd, but just asked whether I was interested.. and then after a while I called them and asked to update and they said that that HR is still working on it...

Btw on the website it now says that selection by dgs is july-september

The person that contacted me said their first choice dropped out, so basically I'm their back-up. I guess that makes the procedure delayed....as you were also contacted in August, maybe it's the same case for you.

@bilgeyis any news for you? I received my offer on Thursday. But now I'm a bit more concerned about the Luxembourg visa cuz the embassy needs a confirmation from Luxembourg to give me a visa and I don't know how long it will take them again for sending it.....

@juli.xiang, Yes I also got my offer! congrats! I also need visa to brussels whicj may take up to 3 months... But I have student resident permit with which I may go there while waiting for visa, but still..I suggest you to quickly start collecting all docs!

@juli.xiang I am also starting to get worried as I collect documents. the criminal record in my case needs to be taken from 2 countries and it will take some big time. I am wondering if TO makes exceptions for late comera because of visa...have you heard anything like that?

No I don't know anything regarding late arrival as per now. But I'll contact my unit and ask... I thought they must have had plenty of experiences with non-EU trainees, but I phoned the HR and she told me that they've had very very few non-EU people only....but it was for Luxembourg, I think Brussels' HR would be more experienced ....
