I hope you are right mariju and thats the only reason we havent got a call yet. What kind of experience do you have? I also have a general profile and no specific experience with this area I chose it cause I was interested in it. In the meantime, Im doing a specialisation in development policy and want to write my master thesis in a related topic thats why I lobbied for DG DEVCO.

haha at least that's what I'm saying to myself all the time I've worked as a trainee with my country's PermRep to the EU (Department for Relations with the EP). So I attended EP committee meetings, Council meetings and accompanied my boss to the plenary sessions in Strasbourg. I have a MA in Political Science, but no real specialization...
I lobbied to DEVCO as well, but only to the IIR unit... and you?? Would be exciting to know, how many people applied for IRR

Hello guys.
I wrote to the TO to ask about my points and they told me the threshold was established at 35 and I took 38. What is the upper limit? Is is possible to be 40, as it was in the previous years? If yes, then the threshold is incredibly high!

Do you know your scores? Want to share?

I asked them on Friday, so I believe if you write them today, you can get an answer by Wednesday, the latest.

Last years, they gave, when requested, a more detailed explanation with points for motivation, experience, schooling, etc., but I believe now they are in the middle of little something, so they do not have time.

Anyhow, it could be useful is more of us would know their scores, so we can compare each other and see where we stand.

p.s. maybe somebody (Dutch??) could ask which is the upper limit, as well.

Thank you Palindrom for all the useful info! And yes, a 35-point threshold is quite high for a upper limit of 40, but there were 18 700 candidates afterall..

Hey, I was not preselected and when asked about my points was told the max reachable was 40. Missed the threshold by one point, although they did not tell me the threshold. Seems a bit arbitrary which information is given to whom...

Mariju, it sounds like a great experience, Im sure it will be strongly taken into consideration. As for me, BA in international relations (spec. in European Integration) and public administration, recently Im doing my masters in European Public Management in Germany (spec. in development policy of EC). But no real practial experience so far. I made an internship in Germany related to cross-border cooperation with France and Switzerland, maybe it counts something...
I lobbied today at some units I hope they will still consider it.

Just thought I'd contribute to the Commission-watch: I was contacted by DG ECFIN yesterday. I had a short and rather informal interview (15 mins) with one of the heads of sector (that I lobbied). It seemed that they had scheduled most of their interviews for Monday. However, it was just one unit and I bet that interviews are still going on in other units.

I have received a call from Unit “Nutrition, food composition and information”. However the day after they told me that my candidature was not retained from their service. :-(
Do you think is still worth to lobby other units or I simply should give up because my train is gone???

I got two interviews during the last weeks but they have not contacted me back. do they contact the candidates in both cases?i mean in case that you had an interview and you are selected and in the opposite case that you had an interview but you are not selected, do they contact you anyway?

I have been waiting for two weeks now!!

Some units do not contact you after the decision. If you want to know what's up, write to them and ask...

Hm, you might be right. I guess they let their first choices know.. But still, it doesn't hurt if you ask.. I wrote to them a week after my interview and they told me I wasn't their preference.
At least you know and don't stress about it anymore, hahha

got the same message yesterday, but then another Americas Unit replied to me as well (after 12 days) saying there were selecting their trainee these days. It was a pretty general email tho.

I didn't get it! Another person replied on behalf of a person I have emailed to. In the contact details there is no specification of the Unit. I kinda feel it's from the general secretariat/HR of Americas Unit maybe?
