Application statistics

I noted the traineeship website said there were 10221 applications received from non-EU states for the 2015 October EU traineeship, out-numbered the 10096 applications from EU states.

But there were 2506 applicants from non EU countries compared to 13357 applicants from EU countries in the March 2015 EU traineeship ... ... there were usually around / not more than 3000 applications from non EU countries in other former traineeships ... ...

what happened ?

Did anyone notice that the total number of applications has been increased? Was it only me who missed that? Not that it matters but as I remember it was around 20.000, now the website shows:

Number of applications received 24690
Nationals of the EU 11870
Non-EU Nationals 12820

They advertised it in China this year.

I meant that the numbers have changed since the last update (around February). In another topic people talked about around 20.000 applications (10.000-10.000 EU/non-EU).

I`d like to know why they chose to advert the traineeship in the exterior of the EU.

First one is from China.

The websites didn't say anything why ec liked to recruit trainees from China or Taiwan except for the Chinese translation of the application procedures which could be seen in English from the ec traineeship website.
