JPD PROGRAM - 2014/2015

Hello!

I created new topic so that we can more easily communicate and share any information we have regarding the current JPD program (2014/2015) and the application and selection process, interviews, preselection and at the end, traineeship offers!

As the application deadline has passed now it is up to national authorities to preselect candidates and send the list to EEAS/EC.. Does anyone know when will we hear back from national MFA's if unsuccessful? I mean I don't wont to wait till July and then get the email confirmation that I am not selected and the decision (preselected or not) is currently being made!

Hope we can have active discussion as it will made this waiting period more easier and less stressful!

Good initiative!
As far as I know MFA won't get in touch with you unless you made it through preselection (in any case that's what my MFA said). I know interviews will be conducted from 7th April til 24th in my country but I haven't heard back so I guess it's no good sign...Let's wait and see!

Ok, I see.. So if we don't hear back from our MFA that means we are definitely out. Glad to hear that my MFA is not the only one conducting interviews but maybe there will be some that decide to shortlist the candidates without contacting them before.. Oh well, lets wait and see and hope that we get some kind of communication from their side.  

Does anyone knows about any contact details in EEAS in case we have doubts on the fairness of the pre-selection process or we cannot get in contact with MFA? Just in case we feel that MFA is not treating every application the same and solely on their merits.. There ain't any on the JPD section.

I´ve also applied for JPD but i don´t think I have a chance, hence they only choose 1 person for EEAS and 1 for the EC delegation. Which one did you choose? I chose the EC. Lucyndale how do you know about the interviews? I only got an e-mail confiriming receipt of my proposal, nothing more since then. And on my MFA´s website there is no info about this.

Unfortunately I also think the preselection process might not be fair...:/ Connections, connections...
Anyway, I will be grateful if you could post here any news you get!

I opted for the EC one.. I share your opinion that chances are really low as to be the lucky 1 you have to be outstanding!! If it was only up to national MFA to chose the candidate - I wouldn't even apply! But since they only shortlist the candidates and EEAS is the one making the decision, there might be a chance that the most deserving one will get the position! (i.e. no connections, nepotism etc.)

My MFA didn't send me any confirmation and doesn't even answer my emails or phone calls... There should be a contact person or a functional email in the EEAS for situations like this....

I applied for the EEAS one! MartaPL I know my MFA is conducting interviews because they mentioned it on the website (interviews will be held from April 7th til 24th I believe).

I share the frustration as to the lack of information and the fact that no one bothers to reply to emails or phone calls!

I have been preselected for Germany at the EEAS.
I would like to ask wether anyone knows how the remaining selection procedure will look like? Are there ans more documents to be delivered or is the entire selection just based on the applications form?

Congratsss! German MFA is really fast with their decisions.. Efficient, I would say

I heard back from my MFA and they told me that they will organise interviews soon but also that after the preselection the EEAS or COM will have their round of interviews?! I was surprised by that as I didn't read anywhere they will do that as well. But to be frank I am not sure if the lady who told me that knows the procedure that well.

I was also notified that the interviews in my MFA will be held soon... I applied for the EC one... which countries are you guys from?

Thanks Brussels30. I need to admit that I was a bit surprised that they did not even conduct any interviews. As far as I understood the contract, the EEAS will now just rank the remaining candidates, but it is not really clear to me. Another useful info would be if preselected are allowed to "lobby" at the potential delegations. If anyone knows more from former participants, candidates etc. it would be great to share the insights, good luck & cheers

Hello! Is any of you from Italy? I tried to contact UNDESA but they did not answer the phone (as usual, I'd dare say). Do you know if the MFA will hold interviews to pre-select candidates? Or if we, pre-selected or not, will have to wait until September to know something? Thank you in advance, and good luck!

As far as I know the list of pre-selected individuals will only be sent to European Offices on April 28th.
I wonder if after that we will know something...

Hi aledb! I didn't try to call them again... I was wondering if there was a kind of pre-pre selection for Italy as well. I have some German friends who were pre-selected by their MFA for an interview. Then, the German MFA will send only a few names to EEAS/EC. As usual, the Italian selection procedure is not very transparent. There are no statistics availabe on the number of applications and their breakdown, and there are not clear criteria for the evaluation of the applications.

Hi all! Just wanted to say that I had an interview with my MFA last week.. General interview regarding my motivation, skills and yes they tested my language skills especially French (although my level is A2- B1)... Went ok but I don't know what to expect as they didn't give me any info about number of candidates, etc.

And yes they told me that next week I will get confirmation if preselected or not.. That's good! At least I will know if I am in or out..

Congrats Bruxelles30, that's good news! I still haven't heard from my MFA: the website says "applications are being reviewed" but I honestly think they just don't keep it up to date as the interviews were supposed to start last week....

They just wrote me EEAS will notify us about the results in June, but I have no idea whether there will be interviews from their side or not. If you find out anything please let me know.

Hmm, I thought the EEAS/Commission was supposed to notify about the results in July? That is what my MFA (or rather the centre that is doing the pre-selection for them says on their website). In my country results from the MFA selection should arrive "by the 2nd of May" and they didn't say anything about conducting interviews at any stage.

Hi Bxl1987! I am Croatian and yes I got preselected as well! ) Forgot to inform you last week..

@Cookie - Getting preselected is a big success, congrats, but it absolutely does not guarantee that you will get a position.. But you are closer then you were before!

Information I got from my MFA is only that I got preselected and nothing on the next step and what is going to happen from now on..

Maybe someone has more info?? Would help us all if you share the info you received if any..

To be honest, I did not have much hope of being admitted because I have not many years of work experience, and checking online the linkedin profiles of admitted I saw that they have more work experience than me...
