Interview with Unit representatives

Hi! I had a call from DG Agri- Direction of Rural development programmes (Estonia, Latvia, Finland, Sweden). They told me that they are searching for a Latvian intern for some translations to be carried out form English to Latvian and vice versa. This Direction has a deadline for selection on 16th of December so I guess it could be quiet similar in other units or directions as well. Good luck to everyone and finger crossed!

The deadline for selection varies a lot, I guess depending on the amount of stagiaires each DG/unit can have. I got a phone call yesterday and their deadline was today afternoon!

Another news from DG SANCO, unit D3 has selected three candidates to have interview with.

Has anyone received a call from DG EAC or EACEA agency?

Has anyone been selected or contacted from DEVCO?
Also does anyone knows how long will last the winter break? I suppose it starts from next Friday, right?

I got an email after an interview saying something like: we have put you forward as one of our preferred candidates and will contact you if finally selected and to.

What am I supposed to understand by that???

I am one of their choices, but not the first one, so don't get your hopes too high?

Thanks but nothing is sure until mid-January so I'm trying not to celebrate yet. Well, I have a BSc in Economics and political science, including an exchange semester, and an MSc in Environmental Economics. Before the MSc I did an internship at the Swedish mission to the UN and got a short term job after that at the ministry for foreign affairs. Both the internship and job were focusing on sustainable development. For my MSc dissertation I conducted field studies in Tanzania. I speak French fluently and have a basic level of German, in addition to Swedish and English. I chose politics as my area of interest, however, I've heard the choice of area of interest is not that important, but rather what you write in your motivation. I hope this was of any help.

Many thanks for the info!! I have a similar career path, but no so focused on one area! After one week without any development, I feel my application is my weak point, I'm currently working and did not think too much about the content. I'm learning really valuable lessons from you guys!
