Preselection

I guess they've already chosen.. i know people who got their offers yesterday, while some guys have been notified about their position in "reserve list"

well i kind of hope to get the rejection letter before holidays.. it would make me feel better otherwise i keep developing numerous theories in my head

I think this lateness has to do with the DGs we have chosen!!anyway I believe we will get a reply tommorow!

Hopefully all candidates (successful and unsuccessful) will find out today or tomorrow because having to wait until January, especially for a negative reply, won't be pleasant!

That said, I got this response from one of the regional info offices I had applied to, which seems to be at odds with people having already received news:

"I spoke to the DGCOMM traineeship people in BRU yesterday. They hope to have an overview of allocations by the end of the year. So, hopefully, applicants will be notified early next year."

I should have been clearer - that is only regarding the DGCOMM, but some members seem to have already heard back from them?

It's over for me.
Rejected like the last time. I can infer some conclusions though: having a legal background, it's even harder to get in for the traineeship at EP. It seems that it's more suitable for people graduated in Political Science, International Relations or similar degrees.
Finally, I don't know French which is very important in my field (as I happened to know from my EC selection experience).
Time to set out new plans. EU is not the place for my career unfortunately.

You are right, that is depend of background. I also get rejection even with 2 Master degrees, work experiences and knowledge of 5 different languages. Just the wrong occupation. Will you try third time ? For the rest of people I wish succes and happy holidays.

Hey guys,

Sorry you were not selected but at least you know and can move on. I think the worst is for us that are on reserve list and will not be told if we have been actually selected! Ugh, so frustrating! Given how soon the traineeship will start I don't know if I should continue to wait (of course I'm planning on other things, it's just that it is a great opportunity). Do many people get rejected on the first time? And given how things are in Europe it just seems unlikely that people will reject the offer! Like someone above, I have 2 Master degrees, work experiences and knowledge of 6 different languages but still reserve list. Perhaps it's luck? I know you are all bright people!
