Translation Traineeship in the EC

I am in the same situation..no answer

They are probably pretty busy with all the eligibility check... Maybe try calling...Don't give up hope guys, after all they have time until 15th Jan to speak their mind!

Still no call/email from the DGT... I wonder if they are still busy with the eligibility check   Anyone got any news lately?

I don't think calling the EC at 5pm on Friday will get us any further I guess we should just be patient (if you look at the March 2011, 12, 13 post you might notice that previous translation candidates usually stayed uninformed until the 15th of January...).

Yeah, I saw that... Actually I don't really have hopes, but it's mean to put "the eligibility check of your application is ongoing"... hahaha

I also looked at those posts and as far as I understand, REJECTED candidates stay uninformed until mid-January... No feedback from any selected ones though, or maybe I just missed it
I don't think calling is an option right now either, let's wait a little longer!

That it why the only relevant info we could get concerning exact dates would be from previously accepted candidates who seem to be avoiding this forum devoted to impatience and conspiracy theories

Selected candidates are not so many, compared to the rejected ones... I don't know in the past, but for the March 2014 traineeship there will only be 2 (!!!) lucky trainees per language department   

Oh my, my, that gives me goosbumps! 2! Even for poor Italians who are like 1 million per session? I was deeply convinced that the number of "lucky winners" reflects the initial number of candidates for the DGT as well... Well I actually discover, as the days go by, that I have no idea about this procedure

No, I guess it was before the preselection. In the email I received a few weeks ago they mentioned that "the number of pre-selected candidates is approximately six times higher than the number of available trainee positions".

Yeah, I got that one as well. 6 times higher so they are dealing with 12 candidatures per unit, are they inspecting every paper with a magnifying glass for this to last for so long?

Maybe we're not. But we will still have to live in this troublesome unawareness for some more time (merry xmas...!), even if to find out that we're out at the end of the day.

Nothing for me... Still hoping to get some answer this week, I really don't think there's hope to get a positive one in January   

I'm waiting patiently until Friday. No good news will come after Friday. If somebody got any message from DGT could you pleas let us know? I see only a few people contributing to the forum, maybe someone has more info... Show some mercy beofre Christmas and share your knowlegde!

Maybe not getting a call before Friday doesn't mean anything bad. Maybe DGT simply decided not call us after all and they will select trainees after the New Year's Eve just browsing through our documents.

I find it frustrating that we don't even know if we passed the eligibility check! Based on what I read on this forum from the previous years, I think it's before Christmas or never... even if there is no call/interview, we should still get at least en email from them...

Yeah, another problem is that jobs don't really grow on trees these days, and without any answer I don't know if I should reject other offers or not.  

You shouldn't, I guess... not yet! It's better to have several opportunities to choose from than to give everything away for something that is so uncertain. But that's just my opinion!    Good luck anyway!
