... and TO just stuck. has anyone heard anything regarding the date on which TO will send e-mails with official offers / rejection e-mails? i wish it was done already.

So we know most if not all DGS have selected their trainees up until 6th or 7th June. I wonder though have they also selected the backup candidates and if yes how many? Does anyone have information on that maybe? The term "shortlist" and the fact that some people here write that they were selected as number 1 makes me think that the DGs have not only already selected trainees but also the pool from which to choose if their chosen trainee drops out. Hy everyone!

I received a phone call and then an e-mail from the person that called me saying that I have not been booked for her unit, but that another unit managed to book me first.

She wished me good luck for my internship, but I don´t know if this really means that I got in or not.

A few days later I received an e-mail from another unit saying: "Your CV has been taken into consideration by us in the selection of candidates for our shortlist for the traineeship starting in October 2012."

Does anyone knows what this means? Has anyone received an e-mail like the ones I received?

Lutraka I lobbied a couple of units in DG Envi and heard nothing back. Also that I recall this year no one in the forum said they were contacted by them, but last year they did phone interviews...

Is anyone in Brussels at the moment and wants to meet up for a drink and share experiences...? I'm here this weekend.

Unfortunately, I was not selected. I sent about 20 lobby e-mails mostly to DG Transport and Mobility HoUs but they did not contact me. My education and backgrouns is transport. So I am very interesting to do my traineeships in that DG.

I have been participating in the traineeships program since 2009. I was selected in 2010 by INFSO ICT for Transport bur due to some urgent matters my company did not allow me go and I declined the offer. Since than I do not receive selection e-mail.

Could someone explain what should I do in that case?

After all, I am still thinking to send new apllication ))

Just some info for people applying for traineeships in the future~ I lobbied three DGs, didn't receive any phone calls or emails, apart from the usual automatic responses. So I was pretty sure I was not accepted. But then last Friday I received an email from the TO saying I was accepted by a DG I had not lobbied. So you never know what is happening in each DG! And you can be offered a place without an interview. However, I wouldnt say that there is no point lobbying. I have a friend who is doing the traineeship at the moment, and she says she wouldn't have been offered a place if she hadn't lobbied, as the HoU noticed her cv...

Ayone who did not get an email from the traineeship office yet? I checked my spam and there is nothing there....

I didn't get one either. Any idea how long this process took in the past once it started?

I also still didnt get anything although i've been contacted by DG Sanco and they confirmed that i'm "the chosen one" and that they're gonna proceed with the recruitment. I hope that in the end they wont f**k me over! haha

I get a phone call last week and an email of Friday that I'm accepted !! I lost hope already as many people get the phone calls/ offers earlier, but it seems that selection didn't end yet.

hm, are you non-eu guys? Maybe that has something to do with us not receiving the email yet. Although I know non-eu people getting rejection emails on Friday.

hi everyone,
i'm new in here. just found this forum this morning.
i got a message from the official traineeships office email last friday to let me know that i have been selected for a traineeship.
it says the service, place and starting date, and that the details about the offer will be sent to me in the following days.
it also asks to inform if i'm no longer interested. but should i answer this email to confirm that i'm OF COURSE still interested? or may i wait untill the offer email which i should receive this week?

Hey @Fibica, me too! I don't think it has anything to do with it though, more likely that we are second choices and they wait for the first ones to confirm...?
@Ocecon, I really don't know as I haven't received any email yet.

Don't think so, since i've been specifically told that they already flagged me, but that i need to wait for the official email from TO.
I mean, you never know, but i hope you're not right.

I imagine you should just wait for the detailed email with more information about the position you were offered, and then contact them. I was told it will arrive in the next few days.

Congrats to all of you who have received official offers.Unfortunately recently I got an e-mail from TO that I was not selected.I did a lot of lobbying,but besides some e-mails from a few people in different DGs stating"we'll have your CV into consideration" nothing came up.

Anyway, I wanted to ask Dori and Arrdis or anyone else who will make a traineeship in EEAS regarding their background.I'd really appreciate any information guys,since I'm applying for the third time...I have a Master in IR,I speak 4 languages and I have experience in the area of IR(gathered mainly through interenships and my last job though)

Sorry to hear you weren't selected. I have a similar background to yours, MSc in IR from London School of Economics, only 2 languages really (Swedish and English, and a little bit of Arabic), but specialisation in South Asian security policies through an internship I did recently, and quite a lot of research experience alongside my studies. Not sure which desk I'm at though, it might have very little to do with either security policies or South Asia.

I didn't lobby very much, and I was sure they hadn't picked me as I didn't hear anything at all apart from one email acknowledging my lobbying but saying they probably weren't going to have a stagiaire, until Friday when the offer came through. I'm afraid I don't know anything about the late selection process

@Inna, I have an MSc degree in Security and Defence Policy with specialisation in EU CFSP, work experience in a research institute and as a journalist/editor at a foreign affairs news site. I speak Hungarian, English, German and a little bit of French.
I did some lobby but they didn't contact me so I almost gave up hope...Unfortunately, I don't know anything about the late selection either but I guess there's still hope. I think a lot of people wil reject the offer because they are not interested anymore so the TO can select other candidates.

@arrdis, I don't know which unit I will be at, but can't wait to find it out...:-)

Yeah, i know what i've been told, but still, i haven't recieved anything. Maybe they are just sending email on Fridays? :DDD

Haha, yeah maybe Friday's the day :-) Reading through the old topics, I suppose you receive email from DESK 8 ? This must be for our country (if we have one already), or for all non EU countries, meaning @Ovca may be right; maybe just DESK 8 hasn't sent them out yet. In any case, more waiting.

I just hope that it is a formality thing and that there are no national quota "adjustments" taking place now.....
