Same here! I sent an email to the EEAS Traineeship Office (because the EEAS was my first option) and this is partly what they said: “if your application was successful the European Commission DG EAC Traineeship Office will make the necessary steps to launch the verification procedure and you will indeed be requested to provide your authorities with necessary documents. The lengths of this verification process depends on your home country and may take some time, which consequently may influence your possible traineeship starting date. If your application is not successful you will be notified in the coming months.” But they didn’t tell me what’s actually the deadline! Like what if we don’t receive a rejection letter by the 31st? Should we still have hope for if we receive an offer on the beginning of February?

I’m so interested in knowing how many of us non EU were pre-selected on the Blue Book! 70? 80? Because they selected 22! The March 2020 statistics are already up on the website.

Where did you find information about the number of selected trainees? If they have the number, it definitely means that all the offers were sent, includind non-EUs. Which is strange because I was assured several times that I would get the offer.

No, it's not on yet. if you click O19 sessions and then back to M20 the numbers change.

it's not correct data. even the number of applicants changes))

In fact look at M14 - it's from that year

It looks like those are the numbers from the March 2014 session

Yes, that's what I think also. It is still early for detailed statistics for this session. So there's still hope for us. I really hope they will let us know until the end of this week.

You are right!! I’m sorry guys! I just looked again and there are different numbers! So I mean our patience is really being tested but I guess we have to wait until we either get an offer or a rejection letter! And same here! I hope it happens this week! Even if it’s on Friday at 23:59 hahaha

Congratulations! I still have not received the offer. I hope that they don't send all the offers at the same moment. But I will definitely check with the contact person what is happening. Any other non-EUs received it recently?

this is what I did. and my head of unit basically pushed TO. because within 10 min after he wrote me back I got the documents.

Is anyone else looking for a rent in Luxembourg ?

I haven't received an offer still either. And my contact person from the EC didn't reply to me today. Gosh, I just really hope there's still a chance.

btw, TO said that maybe I won't start 1 March, because work permit takes couple of weeks.... and therefore they may reduce the duration of the traineeship.

I swear, I only got it today because my unit pushed, otherwise I think they don't quite care that time is essential for non-EU.

My feeling is that the unit is not 100% aware of all those technicalities, that TO has. And thus, they may not know that you still didn't receive anything or it now may not be enough time to process application for work permit.

Vic-sh Can you please tell me where are you from? I am from Serbia, and I was told by the representatives of the Belgian Embassy that the work permit would not present an obstacle and that it would be possible to get it quickly. All of these apply just in case I eventually get the offer.

I was hoping that I could apply for the permit after arrival to Belgium, as I already live in the EU and have residence permit of another EU country. Does anybody know if this is the case?

P.S. I checked with one of the current non-EU trainees, and they told me it is possible to apply already in Brussels if you already have residence permit in another EU country.

I am from Ukraine. I think that it depends if the Brussels authorities will be quick...

Hi Vic_sh please I wish to understand how your unit pushed. Did you write to them and urge them to have the TO hasten things for you? I mean, to do this you have to first of all be aware that your unit did select you finally. I believe you can't ask them to push the TO if they haven't selected you already. Were you contacted unofficially before and told you were selected?

I ask because I have never been contacted by my selected unit or the TO, since the preselection notice in December. Is that bad news?

I have the exact same question, and I am at the exact same position as you! I have been told that not all units tell their selected candidates that they are being selected! And most, just out of no where, receive an offer! That might or might not be our case! But I believe that we shouldn’t ask the units that interviewed us if they haven’t previously told us that they were selecting us, I think we just have to wait..

I have never been contacted by the DG I applied to (DG Translation - Italian) nor have I received any official offer from the TO yet, so I guess I’m out
Does anybody know if not selected candidates too are usually informed of the outcome by the end of January or later on?
