Anyone here for EEAS?
Tue Dec 10, 2013 9:43 am
Hey, I was just wondering whether anyone else had the EEAS as his /her first choice?
Which unit are you interested in? I heard that the EEAS doesn't like lobbying, but that they call applicants for an interview. So I will just wait for now. What about you?

Hey, it's one of my first choices, I am interested in "Russia, Eastern Partnership; Central
Asia, Regional Cooperation and OSCE Wiegand" Unit.
I have just send a "lobbying" e-mail to the address provided at the server. As many of us, I am not sure "to lobby or not" but if I am not getting this traineeship I just want to be sure I have done everything to get it.

Me too! EEAS is my first and the only choice. I'm not going to send anything, I think they will select me anyway.

It seems like Mexico and Central America, Mercosur as well as Andean countries Units won't have trainees in March 2014 (because they all have trainees right now and they only get one trainee per year). Do you have any other info about other Units in the EEAS that won't have trainees in M14?

Almost 50% of the applicants are trying to get in the EEAS.
Poor chances for me...

It depends... For ex, I was only interested in the Latin America based Units.

Personal survey! Just crossing some data on unemployment, university degrees and number of applicants you can easily see that almost everyone is seeking the EEAS.

I was also interested in EEAS, but from what I understood before, EEAS is no longer part of the DGs and has its own traineeship procedure on their website. Any thoughts on that?

@DanRan : I doubt that because why would I have been able to choose the EEAS as my first choice then?

I can't find any contacts for EEAS either. They don't seem to be in the Commission directory.

Hello, the EEAS is not part of the Commission, but it is part of the Blue Book Traineeship. There are currently about 30 trainees in the EEAS, including me.

Email addresses are usually firstname.lastname@eeas.europa.eu
Good luck!

Travisfull, I think you're exagerating a lot, which is stressing for us others: you take about "several DG" when I'm sure you've only heard of one or two, isn't it?
This is a really good platform to exchange, but let's stay positiv and not uselessly stress each other!

EAAS III B 1 - Eastern Partnership, Regional Cooperation and OSCE unit will not have trainee slots either for March 2014.
Travisfull, I think you are mistaking the Commission with the Council of the EU, from the other thread. The CE cannot send offers out so early.

Probably yes, actually I hope guys.
However, how do you know which Unit will not host trainees?

From the EEAS:
Dear Mr/Ms,
We thank you for the interest you showed in undertaking a Blue Book internship in the EEAS/Americas – Regional Affairs Division. I regret to inform you that we have made our decision. The selected candidate has a mix of skills and experience that are more directly relevant than yours to the activities foreseen for this internship.
We are sorry to disappoint you, and wish you every success for the future.
Yours sincerely,
Malgorzata Paczkowska
Secretariat of Jonathan Hatwell
Head of Division Americas Department/Regional Affairs

Wow, amazing. It's my first time applying and I have the feeling that this year things are going very very fast (compared to what I've read from previous rounds). I wish I should have known better, but I'm currently working and with limited capability to devote myself to lobbying.
And yes, EEAS it's my unit of interest, but so far, no news.
Good luck to all! Let's not give up hope

Sending offers = the TO send out the contract to the selected person. = official answer
Which does not mean they have selected/ shortlisted candidates/scheduled interviews. Up to this point, only the decision at the level of the unit has been taken (for some of them).
