hello everybody. today is a new day for standing by the phone and thinking if you should worry more that they will call and start the interview immediately or they will not call at all.

so, how's life?

anxiously awaiting phonecalls or e-mails, even another general "thank you for your interest, you may be contacted at a later stage" e-mail would be great.

Has anyone heard from Trade yet?

i just got a standard mail from dg justice and no news from dg comp i really think i dont have any chance there but this is not helping at all for y exam studying

Hello everyone,
after being preselected for the blue book, yesterday afternoon I received an email from a Unit within Dg Connect describing me their activity and asking me if this could be interesting for me.
I took it as a good sign and I reply this morning with a detailed email.
Did someone else have a similar experience?

Many thanks for showing interest in our unit. We received an unprecedented number of very high quality applications and we looked at your candidacy with great interest.
We have now finalised our selection process and unfortunately we cannot offer you an traineeship position in our unit.

It looks like a general email, probably sent to all the rejected candidates. So I guess they have already selected some trainees. (Unit F3 of the Secretariat-General)

Anyways, yesterday I received a phone call for ANOTHER internship I applied for, not in the EU, but in Unicredit Group..and they chose me!
So at this point I hope I won't be selected for te EC traineeship, because I would have to refuse, and it would be annoying....

Kim, congrats from the internship in Unicredit gr. I believe you would feel better if youa re selected for the EC as well and then YOU turn them down

does anyone know anything about ECHO and DEVCO?

What do you think, should I lobby to other units and dgs since I didnt get any reply from those I chose?

Nothing from ECHO and DEVCO, except for one "thanks for your interest, we are shortly starting the selection process" message.

Hi guys!
I have looked at this forum for a while but have not posted anything...and I am not sure if I can contribute a lot, but I'll try...my profile is quite specialized in one field and I am interested mainly in EAC. I've sent some emails them but received automatic reply stating that the head of unit is out of the office this week and one "it is not necessary to send your cv again to DG EAC..." .
It seems that they are not so quick... Has anyone heard something more specific from EAC or know from previous internships?

Got a call here! From Human resources and security, comm unit. I didn't lobby with them at all, I guess they just found me in the BlueBook..

Thanks They asked me about my experience and explained about what they do and what they are looking for in a trainee. They are calling a couple of people today and then they'll decide.

so far it seem that only 2 or 3 in this forum have had interviews, so right now it seems to be rather an exception than a rule to get one. But some units might not be that fast.

so i got a call from a unit that is not my first choice, however i told them that of course i was interested and got reserved in a bluebook list... does it mean that no other units can call me now? not saying they would, i think i got lucky enough with one call.... but u know, just in case..

I got e-mail form DG Justice Unit C1 that the unit does not avail a Blue Book traine in October.

wow congrats rocknrohl!!!!! i think they will shortlist like 5 people and then call their number one. if a unit they you prefer calls and selects you tell them yes and that there might be another unit considering you. they will solve it out between them.

I have one question more - I'm just very curious! Have you used any words such as competition or similar in your application form? I've tried to search my form this way I after that I'm very afraid... that I won't be selected.

i dont really remember to be honest, but i sent an email to the HoU stating that i ve got some experience in a state aid area.. so i d say that lobbying definitely works

Anyone heard back from ELARG or EEAS?

I only heard back from one unit in the EEAS on Tuesday, saying that they were still awaiting the confirmation of whether they'd have a trainee or not.

Yup, I've heard from EEAS. They thanked me for my email and told me they will keep me posted about the selection. It was on Tuesday morning and so far I haven't got any other news
