Annoyed with EC

Hi Non-EU guys!

No special news from my side, but I did call TO today, I had free time

So, they did not tell me anything new, basically the first question was, after I presented myself: "Are you non-EU citizen?" So they get a lot of calls I guess.

The lady was really nice, and she did not tell me much, because she does not have anything to tell me but she said this: "I REALLY HOPE I WILL BE ABLE TO PROVIDE YOU WITH SOME INFO IN NEXT WEEK"... I hope she meant that they expect to finish with screening process next week, which is kinda end of January...

Nope sorry Medenic85, I also don't have other insights or information regarding why or how it takes longer for Non-EU, or whether there is a screening on you guys and if so what it contains.

Though you mentioned, that the HoU communicated to you that as a non-EU it would take longer for you to receive your email/offer. Did he mention how much longer?

A friend of mine, also non EU got hers letter at first week of February, for March2012 session.

I am one of the miserable non-EUs still on hold.
Does any of you know is it possible to get a traineeship at the EC after you have completed a traneeship in another EU institution/agency?

No, it's not possible. It's stated on their website I think.

Hmm, that's odd. As I did one, and still got preselected and contacted from a couple of Units from the EC. And they even asked me questions about my previous traineeship.

Hmmm. Maybe there is difference if it was one of the official internships in the Parliament or in the Council.... so if you did through some "external" agency, maybe they don't count it.

Yeah, it is possible, as long as that first traineeship didn't last for more than 6 weeks.

Hey, yes I talked to them yesterday. They assured me we would get the emails by the end of the month. Also, they said we should all get the offer, unless someone doesnt pass the security screening. No word on the screening though, it is done by an external agency to the TO, so they couldnt give me any info.

I have no idea. But I do know that a friend of mine (also non-EU) has also got her offer today.

I also don't expect that we get all at the same time email, since the "security check" results arrive at different time, depending when it started.

But it's good news that someone got it, which means we can expect some news this week.

Guys, just wanted to thank you for all the encouragement provided during these horrible days of waiting.
I am non Eu as well and hope to get it any time soon.
As for majority I got a confirmation of the HoU couple of times and I take it as granted.

lets wait till the end of the week.

I've just got an email as well. I'm really frustrated: they told me I have not been selected.

Honestly, I have no idea of what happened: I was selected by a Unit and today they told me I didn't get in. I emailed them back and they told me I wasn't selected by ANY Unit. So honestly I don't know how is that possible. At least I wish I had this news earlier, as I had to reject a job offer kinda confident I would get in here

I can't believe it either honestly mdenic 85:shock: I was really shocked, especially after the lady from the HR told me that. Yesterday I couldn't even think about anything, but I'm going to call/email the unit just because I would like to know what happened. I was already so into Brussels mood
