I'm among the selected too but I'm hesitating...
I need advice. I've been selected for an internship in NATO too and it starts also the bigining of March. So my question is: can I do the internship in EC in October if i'm selected for March. I mean do I have to apply again for October :/

I think you certainly have to create a new application for the next round of the EC traineeship...

No, I'm afraid you can't postpone the internship. If you refuse this time, you have to apply all over again for October.

I am in the same situation, I've been selected by the DG I wanted but I had another offer...I am more and more thinking about apply again for the october session and so I can have both opportunities. (hoping that it won't be a bad shot)

Just to check, do you know if you refuse an offer one time you can still apply for another session?

I got selected too to Luxembourg (I'm freaked out because I realized how expensive the accommodation is there). Congratulations to everyone who got selected, and for the others keep on trying, I didn't lobby, neither got a phone interview and still I got selected.

Of course you can, there are no records kept of previous blue books after the traineeship starts.

Guys, do not hurry to create unofficial FB groups...the only "official" FB group will be the one created by the Stage Committee pretty soon. People get confused, last year I think there were 4 groups for the same semester!

I am coming to Luxembourg too :)It is also my second time. The first time I was preselected and now finally selected! Did you apply for DGT? I am not sure if there is only DGT in Luxemburg or any other Directorates of the Commission?

Hello Tadeiya, congratulations!!! I understand that you applied for the DGT. If there's not too much to ask, can you please tell us which is your language and when did you receive the "magic call"? It would really help the ones that applied for the DGT and still have no answer... Thank you!

My language is Slovenian and I received the call yesterday. Hope you get selected too!

Congrats guys. I wasn't selected with the EC but I will start an internship in Luxembourg in March so we could keep in touch for tips and tricks regarding the accomodation. What do you think? And also, not to be all alone up there!! Seems a very small city but I m open to be surprised!!

hello guys thanks for the answers of my question

about the accommodation, last year I was in Belgium for my Erasmus and I knew many people who had an internship in Luxemburg and they lived in Belgium - cities next to Luxemburg. They told me it is not so expensive. So maybe it is a good advice after I checked how much the rents cost.

Hey! I've been selected as well for DG ECOFIN! From what I've heard there are a lot of trainees for translation, but I think all LUX trainees should be on the same fb group (no worries, I'll eat tapas with you after work!)

There is DG ECOFIN as well but I haven't heard about any others!

Dear Sir,
I am pleased to announce you that you have been selected for a traineeship with the European Commission, starting on 1 March 2014. We will soon send you the official offer and practical information on your stay in Brussels.

Service:
European External Action Service (EEAS)

but I still didn't recieve this official offer and no infos about the specific unit or bureau...is this normal?

I'm in the same situation...but my question is: internship at ACT NATO HQ in Norfolk, Virginia or HQ NATO in bxl? if ACT you can postpone your internship start date, the important is that you start within 2014...I dunno if the same for bxl HQ

It is normal given that in the email you have just copied they explicitly say:

"We will soon send you the official offer and practical information".

yes, thanks that's clear...but it depends on what you mean for "soon" (hours?days?week?) given that someone already recieve this email

22 January - so I guess that if anyone turns it down, the TO will quickly contact the next person on the list.

Any news guys? Has Everyone got an offer or a negative reply?

Nothing... I don't understand.. As far as I understood most of the people received their official confirmations, so does it mean that the ones who didn't get any news should be ready to get a rejection?

Some of the people got a reply even if not offered a place,so I dont understand why is it taking so long for an answer for the others. Lets see what happens today,goodluck

i dont know but i can imagine that there is because some spots might not be taken by people selected this week which the TO will know at latest by the end of next week when everyone won't have sent the documents..
so maybe we are just shortlisted or just their second/third choice?
I wish to get any news, cause the waiting is just killing...
