October 2020 Traineeship

Hi,
I post October 2020 Traineeship topic for all those who need to find an information on process or want to share one.
So far I have found fallowing links that can be of a great help for those who are apllying for the first time like me.
As I am a new memeber only in 7 days time I will be allowed to post external links. So instead of '()' put '/'

I only wonder why is Blue Book Traineeship Coach not for free???

Hm I've never heard of the bluebook traineeship coach before. Just googled it - 12€ is not an excessive price but I wonder whether the information is actually helpful? I mean they got the application period wrong for starters (they are saying it's till the 30th but it's till the 31st)

Hey guys, we have news on our page! The results should be out this week. Our info is based on our and others experience and network we have in Brussels, of course, the committee can change the rules in the last minute but still we have the latest possible information and we are the only source that is providing hints and clearly explain the process. This is to inform you that a new message has been published in your personal account concerning your application for a traineeship at the European Commission.

Please access your personal account to read the new message and to follow any relevant instructions.
But when I access my personal account, I can't find any message :/
anyone in my same condition?

I only got an email today, and I wasn't preselected. pretty sad that I didnt even make it through the first round good luck to you all!

I didn't get pre selected either. Am a non eu citizen living in an eu country. Do you think we have not been preselected due to our citizenship?

I am an non-EU and got preselected, it has nothing to do with our citizenship! I'm Colombian and this is my second time applying don't loose hope and go for it again next session!!

The nationality counts a lot as there is a limited number of places per each EU country, plus some countries have more applicants than others. It counts more when you are a non-EU applicant as for this group is a limited places for all non-EU applicants, so, the competition is much higher. But it is not impossible! You need to know how to emphasize strong aspects of your profile. Yeah definitely, as non-EU we face wayyy more competition, because out of the 600-800 places in total, only 20-30 are to non-EU. But I still encourage those didn’t get preselected this time to find how they can contribute to the work done by the EC with the knowledge they have about their countries of origin and how involved they are regarding, for example, political and social affairs, as well as with their interest on EU policies ! (:

I was also pre-selected! Trying not to get my hopes up too high though. Does anyone know roughly how many people get pre-selected out of how many total applicants? Also, will there be any other significant narrowing-down of applicants after our supporting documents are reviewed, before entry into the Blue Book?

There are usually around 11,000 applicants in total out of which 2500-2000 get preselected on the blue book. Then out of those there are between 600-800 selected candidates, there are always three candidates per trainee vacancy on the Blue Book data base. I believe this is the only first filter! If the papers get approved then all the preselected candidates make it to the Blue Book, from which all EU officials, including MEPs, have access!! So even if you are looking for another opportunity, being on the data base is pretty good because any of them can identify who you are and look up your EC traineeship application!

What we can add to this discussion is that if you don't make mistakes when providing the proof docs, then it is 90% you passed the pre-selection! Then you are on the list and you need to heavily lobby for a place or you are lucky to be spotted by an employer. Hi all. Does anyone know when do we get the results of the review of the supporting documents??

The results should be normally out on second week of May. Please follow our Facebook page Blue Book Traineeship Coach for more new. About 1 week before the results, we will publish a new information pack related to the next phase - lobby for traineeship place!

Hello! Bonjour!

New to this forum. I got pre-selected as well on March 16th. I sent my documents for verification the next day. Dual national: French/American. Good luck to everyone!

We have heard that there may be some delays in announcing the results- not beginning of May but the middle or end of May. Keep following our Facebook page for more updates: Blue Book Traineeship Coach.

I heard that last year for the O19 session the sent the email on the 22 of May! So I was guessing they would send it between Monday 25th and Wednesday 27th, maybe around 1-2pm (for those who want to have their lobbying emails ready on the email draft box)
