CoR preselections, March 2015 traineeship

No news for me from CoR either. Clearly it means that I'm not preselected, better luck next time I guess...

I just received an e-mail from the EESC that my score was 6.5 points below the threshold, so I haven't been preselected.

I also received an email yesterday :
"Dear candidate,The Commission services have finalised the pre-selection of trainees, for the March 2015 session. I regret to inform you that you have not been selected. Your score was 2 points below the threshold."

But it was from European Comision. Are you sure you received an email from EESC ?

@Europa: Yes, you are right it was from the EC....

I was preselected, and had a phone interview last week...but have heard nothing since, so I assume I was not successful. The interviewer didn't seem very interested in my motivation or my skills, though (he seemed most concerned with how I knew about the CoR).

Just to update, I heard from the CoR this afternoon: I'm on the reserve list. Have others had any confirmation?

I also received this information about the reserve list. At the same time it says "To my regret I have to inform you that your application has not been pre-selected for this traineeship period. ". 2 weeks ago I received an email saying that I haven't been pre-selected.
I don't know if there is still any chance to be selected or this "reserve list" is just a formal procedure which has to be undertaken by the Traineeship Office. Any ideas?

I don't understand how you could not be pre-selected but still make it onto the reserve list...but, assuming that you are on the reserve list, I would imagine there is some chance of being selected, as I expect that some candidates will also be offered traineeships in other institutions.

Either way, I wish they'd use clearer terminology in their e-mails and, whatever language they use (English, French...), ask a native speaker to proof read them. Their messages are very unclear!

same here, I've received the 'reserve list' email, in my case my status went from 'application valid' to  'reserve list'.  It seems we are on the reserve list, yes, but the one of non-preselected candidates (
''Your application will be recorded in the database of non-pre-selected candidates. This database may be used as a reserve at a later stage of the selection process in exceptional circumstances..'')
If we were on the real reserve list our status would have been something like pre-selected-reserve list (http://cor.europa.eu/es/about/traineeships/Pages/cor-traineeship.aspx )

I've just checked the website and on there my status is 'You can only check your data' and (on the final page of the form) 'The documents shall be submitted after your status has changed to "Pre-selected"' - I sent in the documents in November. I know I was pre-selected only because they e-mailed me about it.

@capoversos (and anyone else) - the CoR phoned me up yesterday saying their first-choice candidate had declined and was I interested in a traineeship. I said no as I am going elsewhere so I hope this helps you!

I have a background in the humanities (Master's and doctorate), plus some study abroad and translation experience, and I applied to C1 (this is my first attempt too). I'm not a specialist like most of those who apply for traineeships so I would encourage anyone who is interested to try!
