DG Taxud trainees

I did my traineeship in DG Taxud, so if anybody is interested in this particular DGs, its division, internship opportunities etc. I will be very happy to help!

Did you work in taxation or customs field? Which unit? Is English enough or do you have to know French too? Where is the building?

There are 2 buildings - the one dealing mainly with customs is next to Place Lux (I was working there), the other one (taxation) in Rue Joseph II. Usually it should be enought if you speak English, however TAXUD is an old DG, so French will de definitely useful. I was dealing with legal issues, if you're interested in customs or taxation I think DG TAXUD is a very good choice. Plus there are few applicants for this DG, since it's quite specialised. I think after preselection the last time there were 2 candidates per post.

Did you work in the taxation or customs field? Are they connected? How are bosses?

I was in customs, since during my studies I specialised in customs law.
And the bosses - like all the bosses - it depends

So customs are in Place du Luxemburg. How can you get to there? Metro? Tram?

Hey, I'm going to be in DG TAXUD, I'm still to meet any other stagiaires from the same DG. I'll be in unit B4 for cooperation with Asia. This wasn't one of my DG choices and I don't really have a background in this field so any tips would be welcome. Do you know anything about this unit? Thanks.

Hey ailsie. I'm in exactly the same position as you were when you wrote this post: same section of the same unit without much of a background in the work of the DG! Do you have any points of advice having completed the traineeship there? Thanks
