I also called the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs today and they confirmed that the first phase of the recruitment process was over. I am quite disappointed but, well, that's the game... !

I'm so sorry you were not pre-selected... BUT take it as a positive - now you have another 1.5 years to gain further experience and apply again next intake! Much higher chances then;)

I contacted my country's foreign ministry also and they told me that they will contact pre-selected candidates in mid-May... surprising it will be decided so early in Croatia! Less time to  be nervous for you then ...for a bit!

No news from the Croatian Ministry either. The last thing they told me that would finish the preselection by the end of March.

I am coming from a small MS too and the selection process was clearly described on the MFA website. They did not respect the indicated periods though and the pre-selected candidates will pass the interviews in mid-April instead of end of March. It is always better to call/write for more info, that's what I did from the beginning and I asked a couple of questions to the HR person which was more or less helpful. She never told me how many applications they receive but it was "less than last year" she said

I was very happy to be invited for an interview (for the DEVCO traineeship) - there are 31 other candidates; 52 for the EEAS one. In my case, MFA chooses 4 for each traineeship and send the applications to the EU institutions.

Any new from the MFA of Spain??

According to the timeline on JPD 2017/2018 web page, MS have until 28 April to send their pre-selected candidates...so I guess we can even hear in early May. For example, my country's MFA said that they'll let both, the ones selected and the ones not, know during the first weeks of May. And my MS is TINY.

Any news??

I got an email from my country's MFA and unfortunately I wasn't one of the four they forwarded to EEAS. Maybe next time Good luck to you guys though!

Does anyone know how and when the results will be communicated? It's specified in the implementing rules that "candidates will be contacted directly by the EEAS and Commission". So maybe someone already knows something more specific?
