JPD PROGRAM - 2014/2015

Hi guys! So today was supposed to be the day we receive the results, right??

As I see no one posted anything I guess no one received any news from their MFAs?? Or..?

I emailed the EEAS last week and they said they had 'entered the evaluation phase' (that's all they said then they just copied a paragraph from the rules document). According to the implementing rules, the ones who will be selected (ranked the highest) should be contacted directly by the EC or EEAS about their profiles being provided to the delegations.....so the ones selected will know probably before the MFAs and the ones who weren't selected might be notified by the MFAs later.

I spoke to my MFA today - no feedback from the Commission/EEAS, obviously the delay is coming from the EU, but for how long... noone knows

Aaah great!    I don't even care any more what will the results look like - I just want to get them! :)Maybe tomorrow.

p.s. the EEAS should update their JPD webpage every once in a while and not every 5 months...

I just spoke to the person coordinating the programme at the EEAS and yes, they have suffered a small delay, but she promised that the results would be sent to the national agencies/MFAs tomorrow (4th June) first thing in the morning. She also told me that all pre-selected candidates will be contacted, no matter the result, and she said that if I haven't heard anything by tomorrow afternoon I should try contacting them (the national agency in my case) again.
Unfortunately she also told me that she is not allowed to tell me the result herself, so I still don't know if I'm in or not  

Ah! She also told me that right now they only have the ranking of pre-selected candidates for each member state. They will decide who goes where at a later stage, and this matching will be done at the HQ in Brussels, with little or no participation from the Delegations. So there's no use in lobbying the Delegations since they have no power in the decision (which is bad news for me, since I had already lobbied several delegations and even got a couple of them enthusiastic about my profile... )

I also spoke to the EEAS this p.m. - the results should be sent to the Member States tomorrow morning, Thursday 5th June (let's hope that's the final deadline). Then is the Member States authorities who should get in touch with the candidates. Good luck to all!

Were you contacted by Eeas or EC for an interview in this period (after receiving pre-selection results), or did they select the candidates just by reading the application form?

According to what the person at EEAS told me there were no interviews at this stage. The selection was done by a jury of high ranking officials in EEAS or DEVCO (for the ones applying to COM) solely on the basis of the application form

If it goes through the MFAs, then it's gonna take another week....why don't they just contact us and the MFAs directly, at the same time. Would be much faster!

Does anyone know whether the results have been sent out to the MFAs this morning as promised?

Lets just hope that we, or at least the MFAs, get the results today so that tomorrow (at latest) MFAs informs us about the results as I believe no one wants this waiting to continue over the weekend!

To make things even worse, Monday is a public holiday in the EU institutions so the results would be sent on Tuesday or even later!!!

After seeing your post I wrote to my MFA again and I received an email a couple of hours ago saying that I am second in my ranking, so right now I'm out , but I might still get the place if the first person rejects the offer. I'm crossing all my fingers now...

They also told me that they only received the list today at 17:40, so they were planning to make the official communications tomorrow. It might be the same for other countries...

I learned today from my MFA that i am also second on my list. Afterwards i called at the EEAS and inquired that an additional 7 places were funded by the Commission. Now i was just surprise to read at the JPD website that the Commission finances an additional 28 positions (one per MS), which would mean that everyone who is on the B list would get a place. Dies anyone amongst you knows how this worked in the last years?

I'm confused... Where did you get that information?

From what I know: The EEAS funds 28 positions and the Commission other 28, but those were separate lists and you were supposed to apply for one or the other from the beginning. Apart from this, Member States can fund extra places for their nationals. For example I know that Spain funded at least 5 places 3 years ago (therefore sending a total of 7 Spanish trainees) and I think Finland funded several extra places last time. So unless you are from a country which is funding extra places (I'm from Spain and I know for a fact they are not funding any extra place) you should hope for the first person in your list to reject the position so you can get it.

That's what I know. Do you have any new information? Please do share it and tell us where did you get it from.

Ah just noticed that i might have overread the part that this was meant for the operational sections.
I would still get in touch with the EEAS HR in your case as they funded 7 additional positions among the best suiting second ones for the EEAS from a surplus budget

Do you know if how the funding from the MS works? I mean is it recommended to lobby now at the respective MFA? Good luck that you are among the 7!

Thank you mat375, but I applied for COM, so if the extra funding is just for EEAS I'm out
And I think the MFA doesn't have any power at this stage (unless your country is funding extra positions), so if you want you should lobby the EEAS directly.
