I have degrees in both, however I emphasised my legal background and marked 'Legal' as my area of interest. I did not lobby (maybe I would, had they not called so early).

Hello guys,

I have changed my phone number since I applied to the traineeship and I don`t know how should I let them know. I`m afraid they will call to my old number. Yesterday I e-mailed them to the address they provided us on the portal but nobody has replayed yet. I have also searched in the FAQ section but found nothing.

Yesterday I received an email stating that I'm pre-selected for the BB. I guess now the lobbying starts.. Does anyone know if we send those lobby emails to the HR email addresses of our preferred DGs they provided or to the Heads of Units of the DGs?

Hi everyone! Pre-selected for the BB as well good question, I just saw all those e-mails in the pre-selection message and I noticed this:
"There is no need to contact the Commission services at this stage.".

"At this stage" is underlined but I guess I'll be lobbying as well...

I started sending e-mails yesterday and received a message from one unit that they have already identified candidates for the traineeship. How is that possible if we just got into the BB yesterday?

I just received a call from one of my preferred DGs. Though it wasn't my preferred unit (didn't said that), I said I was interested. They said they will put that in the system, but mentioned I could still receive calls from other units as well. Probably tomorrow they will let me know the final decision.

I'm too excited right now haha

I am not really into lobbying to be honest, but I sent couple of emails yesterday. Received only one reply from the Communication DG: "The selection is still in progress. As suggested by the Traineeship's office, please check your VBB profile twice a week to see the status of your application."

Let's keep us updated about the situation For example if you know which DG-s and units have already chosen their Trainees etc.

And congrats to everyone who have been selected!!

I am also non-EU and was not contacted so far. Wondering whether the process differs for us

Got an e-mail a while ago, an interesting Unit that I didn't sent any e-mails, showing their interest in me

Obviously it is an informal non-binding contact, only the Traineeships Office can send you a formal offer.

Anyway keep lobbying everyone, I am sure you will have a nice surprise sooner or later

No, I am from a EU country. But don't worry, I heard that deppending on the unit they take some time to contact you, could take a few days.

First of all, good luck to you all! I got contacted by three units today to ask me whether i was interested in their unit, and after i said yes, they told me that they will contact the Human Resources team to tell them that they are interested in me. What does this really mean? Will there be more interviews? Am I basically in already? From what I see online, you just have one interview and that's it! Thank you in advance!!

Hey guys that would be great if you can share with us which units are contacting you so we know which units are contacting people/doing interviews and which ones are not

I'm a bit hesitating about contacting other units within the same DG now that I was contacted by unit B (I keep it anonymous for now). That unit is not my preferred one, but I told them I was interested (better to have something than nothing I thought). They told me that I would be put on the list but also that other units could still contact me in the meantime (it was not a real offer either).

Now I'm a bit scared to send mails to other units within the same DG telling them I interested in a traineeship with them. Not sure what they can see in the system and if that would diminish my chances with both of the units and end up with nothing.

Well it is normal you are interested in several units within the same DG as everything is supposed to be somehow related. I don't think you will lose anything by showing your interest in different units. If a unit that suits you better contacts you and they find you are already booked by another one you can always tell them that you are interested in both but they are your preference.

It was normal questions about my past experience and why I think I could fit in that particular DG. Also some questions about my knowledge in the kind of work they do.
